Arizona Historical Society and Marked by COVID Host 2022 COVID Memorial Day Event
The Arizona Historical Society, Marked by COVID, and the COVID Memorial Quilt announced a public COVID-19 Victims and Survivors Memorial Day event at the Arizona Heritage Center in Tempe on March 7, 2022. The event featured speakers, art installations, and the debut of 24 panels of the COVID Memorial Quilt, which remained on display through August 2022.
Rep. Stanton Leads House Effort to Establish COVID-19 Victims and Survivors Memorial Day
Representative Greg Stanton introduced a House Resolution to designate the first Monday in March as COVID-19 Victims and Survivors Memorial Day, partnering directly with Marked by COVID Co-Founder Kristin Urquiza and advocate Tara Krebbs to build congressional support. By the time of the announcement, more than 100 cities and dozens of states had already joined the effort.
